REV to wear BLUE at home in 2010…

With the exciting finish of the BYU/UTAH 2009 Football Clash, BYU’s victory in overtime over in-state rival Utah means the Wasatch REVolution will wear BLUE home jerseys this year. With a 26-23 victory in overtime, BYU sealed the deal for the traditional “decision maker” of what color home jersey the REV wear. Last year, the REV home jersey was RED in honor of Utah’s shellacking over BYU. This year, the tides changed as BYU won in overtime on a gut wrenching touchdown pass in overtime which put the Cougars over the top. The tradition of the Wasatch REVolution is to wear either the RED or BLUE home jersey depending on which team, BYU or Utah, wins. Thanks for helping the REV go BLUE this year Cougs!

Former BYU Cougars on the Wasatch REVolution include: Head Coach Eric Drage, QB Charlie Peterson, WR Dave Christensen, WR Toby Christensen, OL Aaron McCubbins, OL Teag Whiting, DE Setema Gali, RB Marcus Whalen and LB Justin Ena (1 game).

Former Utah Utes on the Wasatch REVolution include: Defensive Coordinator Ev Matagi, Kicker Golden Whetman, DL Pene Talamavaio, LB Brady Nelson

In side news, the REV had 4 players – WR Dave Christensen, WR Toby Christensen, WR Eric Drage and QB Charlie Peterson compete in the 2nd annual 1280 “The Zone” Rivalry Classic. This game raises money for Utah’s Road Home and was attended heavily raising thousands of dollars for Utah’s homeless. Several of the 2009 Sugar Bowl Champion Utes competed including headline star QB Brian Johnson. While the Cougs were overmatched with age, they performed admirably and lost to the Utes. Brian Johnson was named MVP while REV QB Charlie Peterson earned the MVP honors for the Cougs side.

Currently, the Wasatch REVolution is pursuing ANY former BYU and/or Utah players who want to strap on the helmet and join the incredible Rocky Mountain Football League. Please email “management@wasatchrevolution.com” for any further details.

Congratulations to all Utah and BYU fans for an incredible rivalry game in 2009! The REV are proud!
